PorcFest 2011 has already been featured in TWO news releases (a podcast/article and a radio spot/article) by NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO! The kicker? FAIR (and even FAVORABLE) COVERAGE!

Early in the week PorcFest was visited by Robert from Planet Money on NPR. He was interested most in the economic aspect of PorcFest, specifically the voluntary trade, lack of government regulation, trading value for value (and shunning FRNs), etc.

Our Rebels in Silver Circle are fierce, non-conformists, with vibrant personalities. Creating them for the film and comic book required inspiration from some of the top liberty activists and liberty enthusiasts. What better place to find these rebel-souls than at the Porcupine Freedom Festival AKA PorcFest?

Because of the Free State Project and help from many other community members PorcFest has become a successful event and also a breeding ground for our fans. This summer we will be celebrating their activism and loyalty to our project by sharing some top-secret footage that no one outside of the studio has seen. By the time PorcFest rolls around we will have full-length versions of the film, but important components like “extras” and facial movement still won’t be 100%. So no feature film for you all BUT, we will be perfecting a scene for PorcFest’ers. We want you all to get a taste of what to expect at the end of this summer. Your opinion means a lot to us.

In this thread on the PorcFest.com forum I announced that we'd be giving a free ticket to PorcFest 2012 to the most prolific, quality photographers and videographers, who let us copy their raw data. I very much wish I could afford more substantial compensation, but thats simply not the case. But it appears the idea has inspired at least one vendor, Ron Helwig of Shire Silver!
