Spotlight: Josh Noone from the Federal Crime
In this installment of Spotlight I have a Q & A with Josh Noone of the Federal Crime. Check it out!
1. You have been involved with Free Staters in New Hampshire for a while now. I've seen you at Porcfest, Live Free or Die and Free Keene Fest. What are your impressions of the growth and changes you have seen within the liberty movement and specifically the activists in New Hampshire?
When I first heard about the FSP it was a real surprise to discover a lot of people with similar viewpoints on liberty. Each year the FSP and the greater community of people interested in liberty gets larger and more tighter knit. I’ve seen people come in and just go right to work for a cause they beleive in. The FSP has started something amazing. I’d love to see liberty in my liftime.
2. Can you recall any outstanding or noteworthy experiences from previous Porcfests?
I’ve only been to one Porcfest. This will be my second. Last year I witnessed the signing of the Shire Scociety Declaration. Jordan Page played a fantastic set, as well as other bands that I see at liberty oriented events like The Blue Eyed Fools. I have to say one thing that struck me was just how nice everyone was, I witnessed no drama at porcfest. Not to mention some great speeches and awesome home cooking.
3. What advice do you have for other bands and musicians that may be thinking of moving to NH with the Free State Project?
Ask yourself, do you believe in liberty? Personal resposability? Being a peaceful person? If so NH sounds like a good destination. Bands may have better luck focusing on areas like Keene, or Portsmouth. NH in general has a lot to offer.
4. Have any of your songs been inspired by run-ins with local authorities or bureaucrats?
Not directly. I don't usually have a lot of run-ins. Not inspirational ones anyway. A lot of the songs I write focus on the human experience through the eyes of someone just wanting to live life, experience love and have compassion and understanding for those around them as a free individual in a world that doesn't seem to respect individuality or freedom for that matter. Was that run-on sentence? Anyway thats why we are goign to porcfest right? To express ourselfs freely, to share our experiences, to eat good food, listen to good music and get inspired to live the kind of life we want to. Im getting psyched.
