Hang out each morning 8-10am while enjoying free pancakes (500 made each morning) and other times throughout the day depending on other PorcFest events (call 515-468-7364 to schedule).
History: As a child and young adult, I spent a total of 6.5 years living in Germany (two of which were in former Socialist/Communist East Germany on a mission for my church) and traveling throughout Europe. I witnessed what government oppression does to a people and began to understand the importance of freedom and the poverty that remains when there isn’t enough freedom.
. . . Today I see many needs in the world. At the top of the list, I see refugees fleeing oppressive governments, who seek a land of opportunity, many who struggle with the rising prices and reduced quality of socialized medicine, and the silencing of those who have recently lost their freedoms (like the people of Hong Kong).
Our planned Libertarian seastead would help to resolve those needs by providing land of opportunity for those fleeing oppressive governments, providing a place for the free market to thrive so that healthcare can be affordable and of higher quality, and giving people a safe place to be free.
. . . I am a software developer and a longtime Austrian economist but have spent three years studying concrete, shipbuilding, metallurgy, 3D modeling, international law, and anything that could be helpful in designing the seasteading community that I seek.
Note: Goals at 2022 PorcFest:
* Make 1,000 pro-freedom friends
* Find 200 people who want Freedom Haven to exist and are serious enough about it to donate $5 to our marketing efforts.

May he rest in Eternal Peace. Michael died suddenly and unexpectedly of COVID-19 related issues on January 6, 2022. In memoriam, we will be selling his books, titled,”Walsh’s War – A Different Path to Vietnam.” All proceeds will go directly to his Memorial Service Funds.
https://www.sentinelsource.com/news/obituaries/michael-walsh-jr/article_b168b14a-13e5-53b0-840d-37c70a105bf3.html

Michael joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and was assigned as a paratrooper to the 101st Airborne Division. By age 18, Michael was in Vietnam in time for the Tet Offensive in 1967-68.

Michael came to feel the U.S. engagement in Vietnam lacked moral purpose and legal justification, and he refused to engage in combat. A detailed account of his experience is in his book, “Walsh’s War: A Very Different Path through Vietnam.” Please buy it from me and not Amazon. Thank you in advance. Isabelle

History: My family are refugees of the Vietnam conflict AKA as Vietnam WAR. We understand what it is like to be victims of the communist government. This same government used deadly force against innocent people and civilians to seize properties, private businesses and personal belongings under the guise of “the common good.” My family lost EVERYTHING: their homes, livelihoods, a peaceful way of life AND five of my very young uncles died valiantly trying to protect us and defending FREEDOM. My mother still suffers from severe PTSD because she was only eight years old when she had to flee, barefeet, into the jungle to avoid capture by the communist invaders. She had to witness her mother die in her arms during this invasion.
. . Porcfest has a profound meaning for me. I am grateful for fellowship with like-minded people and in many ways feel protected when I am surrounded by members of this amazing community. I still yearn for a sense of belonging and this is what I seek here, with YOU, the advocates of liberty, love, peace and friendships.
. . . I wish to share my Vietnamese heritage and culture through food and by doing this honor my family; particularly, my mother and in memory of my sister, Trang.
. . . Thank you to this amazing community for the opportunity to serve Vietnamese cuisine and your support!
. . .Sincerely, Isabelle Rose
Note: Much gratitude to ALL of the volunteers for organizing Porcfest! Thank you for your dedication and service! Volunteers, please contact me and identify yourself as a volunteer. Volunteers will receive a five percent discount on entrées, rounded up to the next whole dollar. I will also happily accept Bitcoins, goldbacks, silver, fiat$. Bartering welcomed.

Who’s the Big Fucking Hero? {Future Vision}

Speaker: Carla Gericke, Carla has been building greater liberty in the Free State by leading the Free State Project, by leading PorcFests, and by leading innumerable liberty efforts within the free state. She moved here from South Africa. She is affectionately known as ‘Queen Quill’, is the Chair of the Free State Project, lead producer of numerous PorcFest’s, a constant volunteer, and leads innumerable liberty efforts on multiple issues within the free state.
Speaker: Dennis Pratt, {Website} {Pic} advocating liberty for 40 years, but only for the last 2.5 years has he lived in the Free State. He cannot believe that it took him this long to find the place that feeds his soul. Instead, he lived in authoritarian states, denigrated and vilified for his most cherished beliefs of how humans should treat one another (peacefully, respectfully, tolerantly, consensually). And he has something to say if you think that freedom is something you can deny yourself over your lifetime, hiding who you truly are from those who believe in your subjugation.
. . . As the Chef de Village of PorcFest XVIII (PorcFest 2021), Dennis has reimagined this quite different PorcFest to align more with our FSP goals to attract more liberty lovers — and to connect and to activate those liberty lovers — to build greater libert.

For Whom: If you yearn for human freedom in one small corner of the world. If you would consider migrating to create freedom. If you would like to know the characteristics (and identities) of a few of today’s libertarian heroes in the Free State. If you would like to assess whether building a Free State is a calling for you.
Description: Dennis’ winning SoapBox Idol rant of 2020 explained that porcupines need to look in the mirror — that YOU were necessary, big fucking heroes of the liberty movement. Many different types of migrants are transforming New Hampshire into a Free State. Carla and Dennis will describe some of the different types of liberty heroes we have, and we’ll share our vision or how porcupines are creating an actually free future. We’ll give you a chance to talk about how liberty is important to you, and what type of liberty you would like to build for yourself, your family, and your community. {More}

. . . 4:00 pm “They Say It Can’t Be Done,” Patrick Reasonover, Michael “Oz” Ozias, dirs. (72 min) Innovation can solve some of the world’s largest problems. The film tracks four companies on the cutting edge of technological solutions that could: Promote animal welfare; Solve hunger; Eliminate organ wait lists; Reduce atmospheric carbon. Innovation never comes without risk and often brings consequences that can impact our health, safety, and environment. That is why our regulatory system is designed to protect and serve the public interest. In the fast-paced world of technological development, however, even well-intentioned regulations can inadvertently hamper beneficial progress. Each company in the film has the potential to solve some of our greatest challenges, but all face a common roadblock: a regulatory system that could impede their pathways to success. Is it time for us to imagine a new regulatory approach?
. . . 5:15 pm Discussion: “Industry + Innovation + Necessity = Success!” Share your stories and reactions to the films.
. . . 5:35 pm “Made in Mekhe,” Sean Malone, prod. (31 min.) Magatte Wade was born in Senegal but spent much of her childhood in France. Growing up, she saw the extreme differences in wealth between Africa and Europe. This disparity sparked a question… Why are some countries rich, and others poor? As she discovered the answer, Magatte was inspired to become an entrepreneur and bring business and investment back to her home.
. . . 6:15 pm “The Great American Race Game,” Martin Durkin, dir. (82 min.) This history of the Black experience in 20th century America demonstrates how LBJ’s “Great Society” and the welfare state cut short the progress and success Black families and individuals had been making in every area. A contradiction of today’s culture of victimhood.
. . . 8:00 pm “The Politically Correct Guide to Journalism,” Patrick Reasonover, dir. (15 min) THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE (PIG TV) is an animated comedy series starring author Michael Malice and historian Thomas E. Woods and produced by Dangerous Documentaries.
