FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK:
Welcome to PorcFest XII! Now in its 12th year, the Free State Project’s
annual camping extravaganza promises to be as spectacular as ever.
Immerse yourself in all Porcfest has to offer. Enjoy the informative talks, panels, hands-on
workshops, and, of course, the late night bonfire philosophizing. For us early movers, “Liberty is
a Lifestyle.” This is your chance to make new friends and get to know your community.
We live our ideals, which means Porcfest is all about personal responsibility. Be considerate
of your neighbors, respect the campground rules, clean up after yourself, your children (and
your pooch). If you are new to open carrying, attend a gun safety briefing. Firearm marshalls
and PorcRangers are on call to assist with any security concerns. Fr33 AID can help with any
medical issues. Apply the Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated.
My heartfelt appreciation to this year’s organizers, recent mover Kristin Weitzel and FSP board
member Matt Philips. PorcFest has grown into an immense undertaking, run by volunteers.
Kudos to the entire Porcfest team: FSP Creative Director Marcus Connor for his amazing
designs and website, Julia Miranda for program design, Amy Day for schedule wrangling,
Cecelia Fairchild for Agora Valley, Jim Gordon for sponsors, Kristine Boncer for registration and
the Porcfest newsletter, Angela Harris for speakers and panels in the Pavilion, Jessica Love for
the Creating Communities Tent, Nick Ford and Jack Schimek for Alt-Expo, The Atlas Society,
Rhonda Lambert for volunteer coordination, Theresa Earle for family programming, Carolyn
Albert for the VIP Lounge, Eric LaRoche for supporting our AV vendor, Jen Lyons for social
media, Randy Clemmons for PR, Tara Powell for PorcRangers, our social media team, our
administrator Chris Lopez, and the FSP board.
Thanks to all our sponsors for their continued support. To all the volunteers who will work
tirelessly this week, thank you in advance for your time and effort. It takes a Quillage!
Yours in peace and liberty,
Carla Gericke
President, Free State Project
At the end of this week of celebrating all Liberty in Our Lifetime
has to offer, I hope you will find yourself convinced to call New
Hampshire “home.”
