Code of Conduct
Updated: 8/10/2023
Respect for Individual Rights: We believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every individual. Attendees are expected to respect the rights and autonomy of others, including their freedom of speech. Don’t assume consent; seek it. Theft, threats of violence, or violence are taken seriously at PorcFest. Any bad actor will be asked to leave immediately.
Personal Responsibility: We encourage attendees to take personal responsibility for their actions and choices. This includes being accountable for one’s own safety, well-being, and the consequences of one’s actions.
Voluntary Community: We promote voluntary interactions and transactions based on mutual consent. Attendees are encouraged to engage in voluntary exchanges, collaborations, and associations, respecting the principles of free markets and individual choice. We foster a sense of community and encourage attendees to engage with one another, build connections, and find common interests.
Intellectual Openness and Personal Growth: We value intellectual diversity and encourage attendees to engage in open-minded discussions, debates, and the exchange of ideas. Attendees are encouraged to actively participate in educational sessions, workshops, and discussions to expand their knowledge and understanding of liberty-related topics.
Parental Responsibility: We support parental autonomy in child rearing. When choosing to indirectly supervise “free range” children, Parent(s)/guardian(s) are responsible for determining when children may be able to manage indirect supervision. Free-range children should be able to make decisions becoming of a porcupine and care for all basic needs including food and medical conditions. Children unable to care for basic needs or meet festival code of conduct independently require direct adult supervision. Parent(s)/guardian(s) are responsible for all minor children for the duration of the festival. They take full and sole responsibility for ensuring that any minors in attendance are not exposed to any activity or thing which may be inappropriate for a minor or that is against parent/guardian preferences.
Nudity Policy (Body Freedom): Participants must refrain from nudity (defined as exposed genitalia) in shared spaces, walkways, campsite facilities (other than bath houses for bathing), or within view of non-BF campsites. In other camping zones, nudity must be limited to your own private campsite, following the above guidelines regarding shared spaces and in view of other sites. Clothing-optional events must take place within the designated Body Freedom (BF) Zone on the map unless specifically approved by a PorcFest Producer. It is crucial to adhere to these guidelines, as intentional violations will result in the individual being asked to leave PorcFest immediately.
Community Stewardship: We respect the natural surroundings and private property of Roger’s Campground. All attendees are asked to practice reasonable water conservation, ensure the proper disposal of trash according to campsite guidelines, and adhere to quiet hours after 11 PM (per Roger’s Campground). PorcFest is a private event, and attendees are expected to review and follow instructions by FSP and Porcfest Management (including, but not limited to Producers, PorcRangers, FreeAid) and understand the Terms and Conditions for attending the festival. Refusal to follow instructions and adhere to PorcFest’s “Cultural Courtesy” Code of Conduct may result in being asked to leave and being banned from future events.
